Cowl Autumn Waves – Free pattern

The magical autumn is everywhere and it inspired us to select the most beautiful autumn colors of Wooly Cotton yarn and create with them this beautiful autumn cowl. The pattern is so easy to make, and the softness and warmth of the yarn makes it an indispensable accessory for your autumn and winter knit collection.

Sizes: Child 4-10 years (circumference 52 cm, height 21 cm); Preteen/Teen (circumference 60 cm, height 24 cm); Adult (circumference 68 cm, height 27 cm). The pattern is written for the smallest size and other two sizes included in brackets.

Pattern:

The piece measurements are easily adjustable:

• Knit less or more rows to decrease or increase its height and/or
• Cast-on less or more stitches (multiple of 18 stitches) to decrease or increase its circumference

Yarn: Wooly Cotton (57% cotton; 43% wool); 50 gr/140 m

Colors: 02 (white); 190 (yellow); 198 (orange); 153 (green) и 226 (brown) – 1 skein of each color

Needles: Circular needle size 3.00 mm, length 40 cm

Pattern instructions

Cast-on 127 (145, 163) stitches and close them in a circle. 126 (144, 162) stitches on the needle.

Note: Use stitch marker to mark the end of each row. Move the marker to the right needle after finishing each row.

Row 1 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 2 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 3 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 4 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 5 (orange): Knit all stitches.

Row 6 (orange): Knit all stitches.

Row 7 (orange): *(k2tog) 3 times, (yarn over, knit 1 stitch) 6 times, (k2tog) 3 times*. Repeat ** to the end of the row.

Row 8 (orange): Knit all stitches.

Row 9 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 10 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 11 (yellow): Knit all stitches.

Row 12 (yellow): Knit all stitches.

Row 13 (yellow): *(k2tog) 3 times, (yarn over, knit 1 stitch) 6 times, (k2tog) 3 times*. Repeat ** to the end of the row.

Row 14 (yellow): Knit all stitches.

Row 15 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 16 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 17 (зелено): Knit all stitches.

Row 18 (зелено): Knit all stitches.

Row 19 (зелено): *(k2tog) 3 times, (yarn over, knit 1 stitch) 6 times, (k2tog) 3 times*. Repeat ** to the end of the row.

Row 20 (зелено): Knit all stitches.

Row 21 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 22 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 23 (brown): Knit all stitches.

Row 24 (brown): Knit all stitches.

Row 25 (brown): *(k2tog) 3 times, (yarn over, knit 1 stitch) 6 times, (k2tog) 3 times*. Repeat ** to the end of the row.

Row 26 (brown): Knit all stitches.

Continue, depending on which size you are knitting:

• Child – repeat Row 3-26 two more times
• Preteen/Teen – repeat Row 3-26 two more times and repeat Row 3-14 one more time
• Adult – repeat Row 3-26 three more times

Continue with the white edging:

Row 1 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 2 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 3 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 4 (white): Purl all stitches.

Row 5 (white): Knit all stitches.

Row 6 (white): Cast-off

Note: You may move the white strand up and not cut it after each white section. Thus you will have less lose ends to weave in.
