Half brioche stitch: (Main pattern) Row 1: *slip 1, yarn over, k1* Row 2: *p1, k2tog

BACK:

With needles 3,25 mm cast on 107 sts Italian way. Knit 14 rows ribbing 1х1.
Change to 4 mm needles. Start the row counter again from row 1 and knit the Half brioche stitch for the total of 146 rows.
Next row: start over again the row counter from 1:
Row 1: an Increase row: 1 selvege st, M1, knit till 1 st remaining, M1, selvege st – 2 sts added. Put a marker on each end of the row. This will later help to start the sleeves.
Repeat the increase row on every 12th row for 5 more times. Increase rows: 1st, 13th, 25th, 37th, 49th, 61st
After row 61 we will have 119 sts
Continue straight till row 72 where we must put markers to define the shoulder sts: work 38 sts, PM, 43 sts, PM, 38 sts

Shoulder and neck shaping:

Row 73 – cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row, work till the end
Row 74 – cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row, work till the end
Row 75 – cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row, work till the end
Row 76 – cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row, work till the end
Row 77 – cast off 6 sts at the beginning of the row, work till the first marker, slip the marker, work 15 sts, cast off the next 13 sts, work till the end

Row 78: cast off 6 sts, work till the end
Row 79: cast off 5 sts, work till the end
Row 80: cast off 6 sts, work till the end

Continue as for back from Row 1 to Row 64 where we must place markers to separate the shoulder sts: 38 sts shoulder, 43 sts neck, 38 sts shoulder
Row 65: Work till the first marker, slip it, work the next 17 sts, cast off the next 9 sts, work till the end

Right side:

SLEEVES:

Sew shoulder seams. Holding the right side start picking up sts on needles 4 mm for the sleeves from one of the markers (front to back or back to front): 42 sts from marker to shoulder seam, 1 st on the seam, 42 sts to the other marker – total 85 sts
Work straight for 8 rows.
Row 9: 1 selvege st, k3tog, work until 4 sts on the needle, k3tog, 1 selvege st – 4 sts decreased
Repeat this Decrease row 8 more times on each 18th row.
Decrease rows: 9th, 27th, 45th, 63rd,81st, 99th, 117th, 135th, 153rd
Sts after row 153 – 49
Work straight from 154th to 160th row.
With smaller needles – 3.25 mm work ribbing for 14 rows. Cast off the Italian way with a needle.

NECKBAND

With needles 3.75 mm pick up sts starting from the right shoulder seam: 50 sts on the back + 54 sts on the front. Total 104 sts. Work 10 rows of 1×1 ribbing. Change to 3.25 mm needles and work 3 rows. Change to 3.75 mm and work 10 more rows. Cast off, fold inwards and sew the band.
Sew the side seams of the front, the back and the sleeves. Handwash and block on a flat surface.
